I really do appreciate your attempts to provide the freedom to marry whom I choose, however, I must ask you to stop. As good as your intentions may be, the recent movements have us at the brink of marriage equality, and this stresses me out greatly. As a single gay male, I don't have much to worry about, yet I worry about my future once Proposition 8 gets repealed and marriage is liberated from it's traditional chains.
In the past, it has been fairly easy for me to skirt commitment. Having dated a man for a good amount of time, he eventually feels the need to take the next step. I just say "Baby, I care about you, but or society doesn't want us to take that step yet" and the whole conversation blows over.
If Gay marriage were to become legal what would my excuse be for not making commitment! I could no longer be the bachelor I am, I would have to settle down. A terrible thing I have seen happen to many heterosexual men and women. It would ruin my life.
So please, well intentioned citizen, stop. Stop the fight. I am not ready for commitment!
Sincerely,
Logan

I wrote this as a joke during the Judge Walker's Decision, however on a more serious note... I really am afraid of what will happen if Prop 8 gets repealed so this early and Gay Marriage becomes legal. What would happen to the movement. Marriage is important, yet the Queer movement is so much more. From youth and their parents, bullying, societies view on gender and sexuality, anti-discrimination laws... the list goes on. There is so much more that needs to be done and I am afraid once marriage becomes legal, many people will give up the fight. While people will still suffer. Those who do continue the fight could be looked down upon by Queer and Non-queer people alike with dismay. "We gave you marriage, what else do you want?" they could say. I hope this is not the case but I am still afraid. What do you think my readers? Am I just crazy?
On a related subject, my roommate sent me this very interesting article about Queers and Parents of Queers who are against repealing DADT, It is a really interesting perspective and couldn't help but agree with some points. This article is on a blog that is written by a group of really great open-minded, leftist Mormons. Yes there are cool Mormons, I promise. You just have to know where to look ;)
Love,
Logan
PS. I don't know what to name this post (brainfart) ideas?
PSS. Those two articles I talked about have now turned into three. They are coming. I am just trying to spread them out and I find things I feel are more pressing to blog about. :)

When I read the preview on the feeds I couldn't help but wonder what the hell was going on, however it made me giggle as I got a little further in.
I shan't stop fighting until people stop caring. It will take years, but I'm prepared for this fight.
I love you Twig, you make me giggle :)
